The Smokin' Section really enjoyed returning to the Ridgewood Country Club (our first visit in '07 had been to provide music for the Ridgewood YMCA's Cure for Autism fund raiser dinner there in March). Virginia Orovic, the RCC's Banquet Manager/Event Planner was there to supervise the event herself and keep things running smoothly at one of Northern New Jersey's most elegant country clubs that host wedding receptions, private parties and corporate events.

Our short version of the Bellamy Brothers' chestnut "Let Your Love Flow" was used to usher in the bride and groom during their initial walk in to the reception room. Kate and Evan had a crowd that was primed and ready to party! The guests packed the floor in front of the band immediately for the first open dance of the evening (our version of Natalie Merchant's "Kind and Generous"). The crowd's enthusiasm and energy didn't let up through the night, whether the Smokin' Section was playing uptempo rockers, mellow ballads, soul and funk classics, swing tunes or our own renditions of recent and current hits by Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Gnarls Barkley.

It was fun being part of the party with one of our favorite NYC/NJ area event & wedding photographers, Lawrence Maskin of Ambassador Video and Photography.A complete performance of "Let Your Love Flow" by the band was an energetic finale to the bash as Kate and Evan's guests held lit sparklers out front of the club to send the couple off into their new life together.
