Wow, 2nd week in a row that we celebrated with a couple named Julie and Ryan!  We met them last year at a bridal show at the Olde Mill Inn, but they had originally seen our nj wedding band at their friends Stefanie and Jose’s wedding reception almost 3 years back at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club.

After cocktail hour with our pianist providing the music on the Olde Mill Inn upright, things moved on over to the main ballroom.  Julie & Ryan were introduced into the party to Bruno Mars’ “Marry Me”, which we learned for this evening.  The happy couple danced their first dance to our version of Jason Mraz’ “I’m Yours”.  Julie and her father danced to Tim McGraw’s “My Little Girl” and Ryan had his turn on the floor with his mom to Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World”.  Julie’s father Craig did a nice welcome speech for everyone and shortly after that we got toasts from the best man and matron of honor.

It was a fun crowd who enjoyed a wide mix of music.  We enjoyed seeing Stefanie and Jose again, and it was good catching up on things with Danielle and Giacomo, too… we’ll be playing their wedding reception next May up at the Villa at Mountain Lakes.

We enjoyed playing Jason Mraz’ duet with Colbie Caillet “Lucky” (a special request for the evening) and we also did Paul Mauriat’s “Love Is Blue”, a dedication to the bride’s parents (married 40 years) and groom’s parents (married 35 years).  The dancers really got down to our Lady GaGa, Pink, BlackEyed Peas medley later on in the party.  Tom, the maitre’d at Olde Mill Inn ran things very nicely and it was easy working in tandem with Peter of Light Impressions Photography, too.

After “Livin’ On A Prayer” and a full version of the Bruno Mars tune, we eased the party into the night to Etta James’ classic “At Last”, our final selection.
